Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Christian Employers Alliance scorecard?
The Christian Employers Alliance scorecard tracks biblical business policy positions based on key votes cast by members of Congress and state legislators. Each lawmaker receives a score reflecting how often they voted in alignment with these positions.
How are lawmaker scores calculated?
Scores are calculated as the percentage of weighted key votes a lawmaker cast in alignment with CEA's position. Bills are selected and weighted by Christian Employers Alliance's research team. See the methodology page for full details on vote selection, weighting, and the participation threshold for receiving a finalized rating.
What does a high or low score mean?
A high score (90%+) means a lawmaker voted in alignment with CEA's positions on nearly every key vote. A low score means they voted against CEA's positions on most key votes. Lawmakers below the participation threshold are marked N/A.
How can I find a specific lawmaker?
Use the state and year filters above to narrow the leaderboard, or search by name. Each lawmaker's row links to their full profile, including a year-by-year voting record, category breakdown, and the key bills they were scored on.
